Brett Akker co-founded Streetcar in 2004. The rent-by-the-hour car club was highly disruptive to the traditional car rental industry, and was sold to US-based rival Zipcar in 2010 for $50m. Following the sale of Streetcar, Brett then co-founded LOVESPACE – the UK’s first storage-by-the-box company. To date, LOVESPACE has raised over £5m of investment, and is multi-award-winning, being named the UK''s Most Innovative Business at the O2 smarta100 Awards, Crowdfunded Business of the Year at the Startups Awards and High Growth Team of the Year at the UKBAA Awards. Brett also holds a number of Non Executive Director or Advisory roles at successful companies, including Men Rock, Farmdrop, Osper and Chargify.
