The Cambridge Satchel Company is the original satchel company founded in 2008 by Julie Deane OBE and her mother Freda Thomas.
Having invested just £600 to start the company, it has become a worldwide phenomenon, committed to preserving British manufacturing with each bag lovingly hand made in the UK.
Collaborations with esteemed international designers including Comme des Garçons and Vivienne Westwood, along with appearances on global catwalks and A-list stars, have helped the business to grow.
Today, The Cambridge Satchel Company collections are sold in more than 120 countries, in five UK stores (plus its exciting Bicester pop-up!) and online.
Julie Deane discusses support for the self-employed and apprenticeship schemes.
Real Business interviews Julie Deane, CEO of The Cambridge Satchel Company, to see how she took her business from kitchen counter-top to over 120 export countries in eight years.
Deane will touch on British design and manufacture, collaboration with leading brands, innovating to stay ahead and the value of apprenticeships for young and growing companies.
