Paul Uppal is the UK’s first Small Business Commissioner taking up his appointment in October 2017.
Paul graduated from the University of Warwick with a degree in Politics and Sociology.
He has run his own successful small business in the construction and real estate sector for over 20 years.
He was elected as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Wolverhampton South West (2010-2015), the only Sikh MP at that time
He was appointed to the role of Small Business Commissioner in Oct 2017
He lives in the West Midlands and is married with 3 children.
Paul’s first business mentor highlighted to him that cash flow would be the number one challenge. He realised that even a sound business would soon go under if a culture of late payment was allowed to take hold. Preparing invoices properly and submitting them in good time was vital if his business was to survive.
