Keynote Theatre 2
How to craft business stories that speak to people, involves several components. This seminar will explore how BBC StoryWorks Commercial Productions utilises audience data, creates emotional content, conceptualises interesting visuals, and refines complex messaging for clients. It will be an exploration of audience insights and a presentation of video clips from relevant BBC StoryWorks content.
The main topics are as follows:
Know Your Audience - Using the insights available from BBC.com we will identify and map out key themes and narratives that audiences want to engage with, focusing on the business space.
Make Me Feel – Exploring how we cast and use characters to create emotion and engagement for clients. Content that sparks an emotional response is not only more likely to be remembered, but also more likely to drive brand consideration and long-term impact. We look at the importance of casting characters who can act as a metaphor for bigger ideas - change, innovation, and impact.
A Visual Language - How to tell meaningful stories through the moving image. Without the right optics, messages won’t land. We will consider how business stories shouldn’t just focus on verbal communication but should pay particular attention to visual style and tone.
Keep It Simple - The best content comes from keeping the story simple and not packing it with messages. We consider how businesses can refine their message; acknowledge the challenges they face and show their innovations.
