Thermography

bookii Stand: B1506

Thermography is traditionally used to give print a three-dimensional effect which distinguishes it from standard flat print. If you trace your fingertips across the lettering and imagery produced by thermography, it feels raised to the touch and more permanent. Thermographic printing took off in the 1920s as a way of adding prestige to any stationery. So when Carfax launched in 1926, it mastered the exciting new technology to offer customers a distinctive, raised finish, at a lower price than the more time-consuming and expensive die-stamping for engraved stationery. Now, our LaserRaise process allows printed letterheads to feed through a laser printer.
