XEROSTREAM - Icons of Change Award 2025

XEROSTREAM Stand: B1051

Mike is a serial innovator and social impact entrepreneur whose 40-year career has redefined global connectivity and now reimagines universal access to pure water. With over 25,000 hours of volunteer service, he has long championed the belief that business must serve humanity and the planet, not merely profit.

A telecom pioneer, Mike is widely credited as the original architect of SMS Call Technology, the SIM-controlled breakthrough that dismantled international roaming monopolies. His strategic partnership with Bart Verkruijssen and the BT/Alcatel joint venture transformed mobile communications worldwide. In recognition, he represented the UK at the 2009 CES Unveiled in Las Vegas and was selected for the 2012 London Olympics “This is Great Britain” technology showcase—honours reserved for the nation’s most disruptive innovators.

After three decades at the forefront of mobile evolution—collaborating with visionaries who shaped the smartphone era—Mike pivoted to his life’s defining mission: water security through atmospheric water generation (AWG). Drawing on a decade of R&D in nanotechnology with leading scientists, he founded XEROSTREAM in 2024, a revolutionary water technology company.

XEROSTREAM harvests pure, uncontaminated drinking water directly from ambient air, delivering an inexhaustible, infrastructure-free supply to homes, schools, and communities. By eliminating single-use plastic bottles and centralized distribution, it advances UN SDG 6 (Clean Water), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption), and SDG 13 (Climate Action) while reducing ocean-bound waste and carbon emissions.

The company’s global empowerment model equips ordinary citizens across four continents to deploy and commercialize the technology, democratizing both access and opportunity.

Recipient of the Icons of Change International Award 2025, Mike’s work embodies the UN International Year of Peace and Trust—proving that peace begins with equitable resource security.

XEROSTREAM is not his legacy—it is his call to action: a world where every family drinks from the sky, not from plastic.

“Water is life. The air holds enough for all. Let’s end the bottle—and begin the future.”
