London Fire Brigade

London Fire Brigade is the busiest fire and rescue service in the country, responsible for keeping people and property across Greater London safe in an emergency. 

The Brigade’s work is carried out by employees in three groups; firefighters who respond to emergencies, Control officers who are responsible for answering emergency calls and managing our emergency response, and fire and rescue staff.  

Fire and rescue staff work in areas that provide specialist support to the Brigade’s emergency response. This includes IT, Finance, Procurement, Community Safety and Fire Safety Inspecting Officers.  The Brigade also has a highly skilled Fire Engineering team, Petroleum, and Transportation Inspectors that work to ensure the safety of London in specialist areas. 

Through Business Engagement, the Brigade is ensuring that all businesses across the capital, regardless of size, have access to relevant advice and support. This includes on how to achieve fire safety compliance, identifying specific risks and mitigating them, and how this helps in reducing the risk of fire across London.
