The Energy Research Accelerator (ERA) is a partnership of eight leading Midlands universities and the British Geological Survey, bringing together more than 1,400 researchers to accelerate the UK’s transition to a secure, affordable and net zero energy system.

ERA brings together industrialists with academics to support research, innovation and collaboration across the full spectrum of energy technologies, with particular strengths in areas including hydrogen, batteries, nuclear, smart energy systems, storage and industrial decarbonisation.

We also develop the next generation of energy leaders through specialist training, industry engagement, networking and professional development opportunities for doctoral researchers.
