Small Business, Big Health: The SME Blueprint for Success

HealthHero is one of the largest digital healthcare providers to businesses in Europe. Over the years we’ve watched businesses grow and completely transform (especially in a post-pandemic world) to prioritise the health and wellbeing of their employees, with varying levels of success. The UK is now in a period of prolonged uncertainty with immense strain on our finances, an oversubscribed NHS and a younger generation coming through that places importance on aligning their values with the values of their company. 87% of employees in the UK do not have access to private healthcare and 42% of employees quit because of burnout. The uninsured population, a large proportion of which is made up of younger generations, are being squeezed when it comes to access to healthcare and support for their wellbeing – yet they are also the people who we are relying on to help us create successful businesses.

We are very lucky to have worked with some amazing businesses that are putting their employees first and realising the direct and indirect positive impacts of this. They all share something in common – they are building an environment where each employee feels supported by their employer, starting with their health and wellbeing. Not only is this resulting in better morale (an average of 25% increase in mood!), but it’s also creating better feelings of job fulfilment, which is impacting productivity and talent retention for the business.
