Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a two-day workshop that equips participants to recognise when someone may be at risk of suicide and to intervene confidently and safely.

What to expect
Each workshop is led by at least two registered LivingWorks trainers. Some parts take place with the whole group and others in smaller groups, balancing safety and challenge. Participants don’t need to share personal experiences with the group.

The five parts
• Preparing: sets the tone for safe, respectful learning
• Connecting: explores attitudes and how they shape support
• Understanding: recognising risk and building safety plans
• Assisting: real-world intervention skills through practice
• Networking: connecting to community and workplace support
