THE GRASS ROOTS PROJECT

With approximately 95% of adults with learning disabilities in the UK currently unemployed, there is a clear need for innovative pathways that bridge the gap between support services and the workplace. The Grassroots Project works to create inclusive opportunities through community-based enterprises, skills development programmes, and partnerships with local employers.

The Grassroots Project was established to tackle one of the most significant barriers facing adults with learning disabilities: the transition from traditional day services into meaningful employment and greater independence.

By providing practical work experience, vocational training, and supported employment opportunities, the project empowers individuals to build confidence, develop valuable skills, and access paid employment where appropriate. Through this approach, The Grassroots Project aims to promote social inclusion, economic participation, and a future where adults with learning disabilities can contribute their talents, achieve their goals, and play an active role within their communities.
