95% of adults with a learning disability in the UK are not in paid work. Not because they can't work, but because the pathway into employment has never been built with them in mind. We're here to change that number.
We run a supported employment model that gives adults with learning disabilities real, hands-on training and a genuinely supported route into paid employment. What makes our model different is that we take the risk of hiring away from the business entirely. Through our subscription model, the Community Support Bank, a business can become an employer by proxy, risk free. You subscribe, and your subscription funds a real wage for someone in our programme. There's no HR process, no training plan and no upfront risk on your side. When you're ready, you choose from a pool of work-ready candidates, we manage a supported transition and report back to make sure the placement is working for both sides, and if it isn't the right fit, the individual simply returns to the programme with no cost or complication to your business.
This subscription can be funded through a CSR budget set aside for social, environmental and economic community initiatives, a corporate philanthropy budget focused on charitable giving and community sponsorship, an ESG budget supporting sustainable and ethical practice within your core business, or a social impact investment fund allocated to measurable social good. Whichever budget it sits under, it comes with proper reporting and badging your business can put in front of your board and your clients as genuine, evidenced impact.
If you'd rather test the water first, you can simply buy services from us. Gardening, light maintenance and more, delivered by adults in our supported employment model, at prices that cover National Minimum Wage, National Insurance and materials only, with no profit margin added. It's often cheaper than a traditional contractor, and every job funds real, paid work.
We also invite businesses to join our steering group, helping to shape what a genuinely low-risk, business-friendly supported employment system should look like, from the ground up. Not a token seat at the table, but real influence over the model as it develops.
