Rivers of Mercy is a UK-registered humanitarian charity founded in 2024 with a clear and compassionate mission — to deliver lifesaving medical care and essential humanitarian aid to vulnerable communities across Palestine. Guided by the belief that healthcare is a human right, not a privilege, the organisation provides free treatment and ongoing care to those who would otherwise go without.

At the heart of their work is the Rivers of Mercy Clinic in Jericho, a lifeline for families facing war, poverty, and displacement. Here, teams of doctors, nurses, and volunteers offer comprehensive healthcare services: wound care and rehabilitation, maternal and child health, chronic illness support, mental health care, and transport for dialysis patients. Every week, the clinic provides free medical support to more than fifty patients in need — regardless of background, faith, or circumstance.

Beyond the clinic, Rivers of Mercy runs several impactful community programs:

• Free Prescriptions Project – ensuring widows, orphans, and the elderly receive essential medicines.

• Breastfeeding Support Initiative – providing food and nutrition for mothers and infants.

• Dialysis Transport Fund – helping patients travel safely for vital kidney treatments.

Behind the organisation stands Haifa Abd-Al Hakeem, a British-Palestinian nurse whose lifelong dedication to care and compassion inspired the foundation of the charity. Rivers of Mercy was created in honour of her late husband — a social worker, poet, and humanitarian whose legacy of kindness continues through this work. Today, Haifa leads a team of trustees and medical professionals from both the UK and Palestine, united by one purpose: to heal, to serve, and to give hope where it’s needed most.

In the coming years, Rivers of Mercy aims to expand its clinic network, build new healthcare facilities, and develop international partnerships with leading hospitals and medical experts. Every project is grounded in sustainability, transparency, and the empowerment of local communities.

Rivers of Mercy represents not just an organisation — but a movement of compassion. Each act of care, each patient treated, and each life saved flows into a greater river of humanity, reaching those most in need with dignity and love.
