Hire Right, Manage Better: A Working Session for UK Founders

12 Nov 2026
Seminar Theatre 8

Most businesses do not fail because of a bad product or a weak market. They stall because the team stopped working the way it did when it was smaller, and nobody built the systems to fix that.

This seminar is for UK founders and business owners who are past the early stage and now dealing with the operational weight that comes with growth. The problems at this stage are less visible than they were at the start. They do not announce themselves. They show up as missed deadlines, inconsistent output, managers who are stretched too thin, and a creeping sense that the business is running you rather than the other way around.
Tzvi Chaimovitz has been building and managing offshore teams for growing UK businesses since 2016. This session draws directly from that experience. Not theory. Not a framework borrowed from a business book. What happens when you try to scale a team, what breaks first, and what you can do about it before it becomes expensive.

What the session covers:

Reliability as a hiring standard. Most hiring processes screen for skills and experience. Few screen systematically for reliability. This part of the session covers what reliability looks like as a measurable quality, why it matters more than almost any other attribute at the point of growth, and how to structure a hiring process that identifies it before someone is already on your payroll.

The transition from hiring to managing. Getting a person through the door is the straightforward part. The hard work starts on day two. This section covers what a functional management structure looks like for a growing team, the minimum systems you need for attendance, performance, and accountability, and the common mistake of assuming that good people manage themselves.

Operational discipline before scale. Growth without infrastructure does not produce a bigger business. It produces the same problems at higher volume. Tzvi walks through the honest diagnostic questions every founder should ask before adding headcount: whether your current team structure can carry more weight, where the single points of failure are, and what to fix first.

The cost of a bad hire fully accounted. Most founders calculate a bad hire as a wasted salary. The real cost is wider: the rework, the management time, the team morale, the three months before anyone admits it is not working. This section covers how to think about that cost clearly, and how a more rigorous front-end process reduces it.
What good oversight looks like without micromanaging. There is a version of oversight that kills trust and a version that builds it. Tzvi covers the difference: the specific tools, check-ins, and reporting structures that keep a team accountable without making people feel watched, and how to build a culture where problems surface early rather than quietly compound.

Who this session is for:

Founders and directors run teams of five to fifty people who feel the operational side of the business is becoming harder to manage as it grows. You do not need to be in a staffing or outsourcing business for this to be relevant. The underlying problems, hiring for the wrong things, under-managing after the hire, scaling before the systems are ready, are common across industries.
What you will leave with:
A clearer picture of where the gaps in your team infrastructure are. A practical approach to hiring that goes beyond CV screening. A starting framework for managing performance without adding bureaucracy. And an honest sense of which of these problems to address first.
This is a working session, not a keynote. Bring your current team challenges. The most useful conversations will come from those.
