his seminar will review how businesses develop, in size and complexity, and the impact of these developments on the way that leaders need to lead. It will acknowledge that people can be unpredictable and challenging, laying out some common underlying issues and sharing a picture of how these complex factors are inter-related. It will illustrate how, for example, problems with employee retention are often related to culture and leadership, or how team cohesion can be undermined too little attention on performance outcomes. Simon will share existing tools to help leaders to understand that ‘running your business’ and ‘running your organisation’ are not the same thing, and that successful companies are good at doing both. After the seminar, attendees will have a better understanding of where their business sits in its organisational life cycle, and what the implications are for leading and developing others towards success.
