Dr. Nathaniel Peat, DHumLitt

Dr Nathaniel Peat is a Multi-Award Winning Entrepreneur, International Speaker (including TEDx), Business Coach, Engineer, Pilot and man of many talents and achievements. He is listed on the 2017 UK Black Power List, 2018 and 17 EMPower UK Financial Times List and 2016 saw an entry onto the UK Financial Times. Upstanding 100 BME Executive List.

Nathaniel is co-founder of GeNNex Solar which provides innovative renewable energy products in Africa. He also founded The Safety Box; a company whose training and development programmes assist with reducing violence and help young people develop important skills such as leadership, communication and conflict resolution. The enterprise achieved the highest rate of violence reduction in prison achieving 95% reduction in 2013 and since 2017 has had an average of over 68% of o\enders and ex-o\enders engaged in employment or education.

In 2015 Nathaniel was the only UK entrepreneur selected by Virgin Unite to attend a weeklong leadership gathering on Necker Island with Sir Richard Branson. Nathaniel is ann Honorary Fellow of Brunel University, and his work has featured in publications such as Forbes & Hu\ington Post. Nathaniel was also a former Trustee and co- founder of EY (Ernst & Young) Foundation since 2014 and now acts as a Patron to the charity. In 2020 he was elected to the board of the Global Jamaica Diaspora Council for the South UK becoming a consultative advisor to the Ministry of Foreign A\airs and Foreign Trade Jamaica on investment, trade, and sustainable development which ended in 2026. In 2021 he became the Chairman of Brunel Business School and was invited by Lloyd’s Banking Group to sit on their Black Advisory Board. Nathaniel has advised and trained the Metropolitan Police on diversity and inclusion and assisted in the development of the Mayor of London’s Action Plan for Transparency, Accountability and Trust in Policing, and framework for the training of middle level to senior o\icers. In 2022 he won the Royal Air Force BLAC Award for services to youth engagement and was the first black owned organisation to form a partnership with global games company SEGA to create pathways for ex-gang members and youth at risk into the world of coding for games. His organisation The Safety Box in 2023 was the winner of the SME news UK Enterprise Awards. In 2024 Nathaniel was invited by UN Migration to speak at COP29 on harnessing the Power of Financial Institutions to fight climate change within diaspora markets and was honoured and awarded by the Government of Jamaica through the Ministry of Foreign A\airs and Foreign Trade for Diaspora philanthropic engagement, the same year he became the winner of the UK Power of a Man Awards.

In 2026, Nathaniel Peat co-founded the British Jamaican Chamber of Commerce to strengthen bilateral trade, investment and business relationships between the United Kingdom and Jamaica. The Chamber was established to support micro, small, medium and large enterprises through business incubation, financial investment, market access, trade opportunities and strategic partnerships. The initiative received endorsement and support from senior stakeholders, including the Honourable Minister Aubyn Hill, Senator the Honourable Kamina Johnson Smith, the British High Commissioner to Jamaica, and the Jamaican High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, and in July 2026 Nathaniel was given an Honorary Doctorate from The University of The Commonwealth Caribbean for outstanding achievement in humanitarianism. Nathaniel's life continues to inspire many people, and he remains connected to the community that he serves, he is an international acclaimed speaker, youth advocate and ambassador for various social causes including fighting for racial equality.
